The economic downturn in Italy worst since World War II continues to adversely affect the purchasing power of consumers and significantly reduce spending by families.
That conclusion is given in the annual report of the advisory group’s consumer finance and investment leading Italy, Prometeia.
According to the report, in 2014, the family spent 814 billion euros Italy only for the expenditure of life, down 66.5 billion euros compared with 2007.
This figure is equivalent to spending in 1999, when Italy was not using the euro. However, Prometeia said that in 2016, forecast expenditure will increase by 1%, the equivalent of 14 billion euros, meaning that Italy’s economy is slowly recovering.
Prometeia that the unemployment rate increased in 2014 with the emergence of deflation, which occurs due to the purchasing power and consumer confidence fell. Purchasing power can not quickly recover next year, but could rise again in 2016. /.
